Technology Development

Andy works on the Protein Chemistry team, focusing on the production and characterization of novel RNA-guided nucleases.

Prior to joining the Life Edit team, Andy was a metabolic engineering scientist at DMC Biotechnologies in the Research Triangle Park, working on microbial strain engineering and fermentation.

He earned his PhD in Chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus on the biosynthesis and mechanism of action of small molecule natural products. He also earned his B.S. in Biology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
