Avery works on the discovery and characterization of novel gene editing tools as a member of the Computational Biology team at Life Edit Therapeutics.
Avery received his PhD in Functional Genomics from North Carolina State University. His doctoral research encompassed molecular biology and microbial genomics, with a focus on the functional characterization and deployment of CRISPR-associated transposons.
