Drew is responsible for analyzing Life Edit's novel genome editing enzymes for therapeutic development as a part of the Protein Chemistry team. He has spent the last decade researching gene editing technologies and double-strand DNA repair pathways.
Prior to joining Life Edit, Drew worked as a Scientist at Intellia Therapeutics where he used biochemical and cell-based approaches to analyze gene editing factors to advance the discovery pipeline.
Drew earned his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Clemson University where he characterized enzymes central to homology-directed repair, a critical pathway for repair of DNA double-strand breaks.
